Community 
An investment as large as Meadowhall is bound to have an impact on the local and wider community in which it is situated. It is important that this impact becomes a positive experience for everyone living and working within these communities.  

As part of a range of measures to address this, a Community Development Team has been created. This team is situated in The Source and exists to develop positive relationships with local communities by looking at ways in which local people can benefit from the jobs and range of expertises available within Meadowhall, its team, their partners and suppliers.

Meadowhall takes its corporate responsibility very seriously and works with voluntary groups, business and public sector organisations and other private companies to encourage skills development, education, charitable activities and economic development to improve the living and working conditions in the local area. As well as increasing local wealth it is important to raise the profile of the area to make it a more attractive location for investment.

One project managed by the Community Development Team is called "Source of Your Own Destiny" and involves 28 weeks of training, coaching, well being advice and a job placement, to encourage the long term unemployed, and those with barriers to employment, back in to work. All participants receive help with I.T training and help and advice on how to find employment that is suitable to them. This programme is funded through Job Centre Plus.
