Focus on: Rachael Waddington an Apprentice with The Source Rachael Waddington, 21 from Sheffield, completed her Level 2 NVQ in Customer Service through The Source at Meadowhall. After working in various organisations and never feeling settled enough to progress a career in that sector, she was offered an exciting opportunity in USC to work full time and progress her career with a retail based qualification from The Source.  

She is now working as a Senior Sales Advisor at the USC Meadowhall store and is a valued member of the USC team, supervising the ‘denim' department.  After dedicating herself to completing her Level 2 qualification and applying commitment and enthusiasm, Rachael completed her qualification in record time. Rachael has even been shortlisted for Retail Apprentice of the Year at the Retail Week Rising Star Awards, sponsored by Skillsmart Retail.

Rachael found her Apprenticeship so beneficial to her own confidence and her role in USC, she recently commenced a Level 3 qualification in Retail Management. Rachael is expecting to use the qualification to progress her career further with the hope of becoming a Floor Manager in the near future.

Rachael now feels she can accomplish anything, taking advantage of every opportunity available to her and making things happen. Rachael is even considering furthering her education by taking a Retail Management Foundation Degree on completion of her Advanced Apprenticeship, "Before I started the qualification, I didn't know where I wanted to direct my career and where my future could take me. Now I have a qualification under my belt, I'm studying for another and I am excited about the opportunities open to me."
