Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!
14th December 2009

2009 has been full of activity for The Source, with more staff joining the team and exciting news announced across the business.

This year, The Source has grown in size and stature, winning awards for fantastic achievements. 2009 saw The Source launch as a National Skills Academy for Retail in conjunction with Skillsmart Retail, becoming the only centre of excellence for retail in South Yorkshire.

The Source was placed at number 17th in the Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to work for list, derived from the views of employees and the policies and processes of employers, using a methodology designed for the British workplace. The Source was awarded a three star accreditation and acknowledged as an ‘extraordinary' company to work for.

In addition to this fantastic achievement, The Source was awarded ‘Small Venue of the Year' at The Yorkshire Business Tourism Awards, received the ‘Foundation European Community Support Award' from the International Council of Shopping Centres, triumphed with two awards at the Business in the Community event, and was successful at The Hospitality Sheffield Awards, with two winners and one runner up from The Source Hospitality Team.

The Source showcased their charitable nature this year by supporting Children in Need, Breast Cancer Awareness and Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice; the Fitness Suite also donated gym memberships to the Charity Unleashed Gift Book in support of Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity.

2008 saw the launch of the new and exclusive Sheffield Showcase project. Bringing together creative talent, retailers, and Apprentices, The Source recruited a visual merchandising team to animate the Sevenstone development site in Sheffield City Centre, designed to support South Yorkshire businesses and the local community.

This year, The Source also attended various events, including sponsorship of The Sheffield Star Jobs Fair and promotion of Apprenticeships to young people at Skills Yorkshire and Humber at the Sheffield Arena.

The Source Director, Ann Cadman, said: "We have had a fantastic year in 2009, welcoming new staff into The Source family and going the extra mile in our extended achievements across all areas of the business, from the many awards we have achieved, to the development of new and exclusive projects in the region. I would like to take this opportunity to thank The Source team for their hard work and show appreciation to friends of The Source for your continued support."

From all at The Source, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
