Tom has a communication disorder called Autism, this means he has problems making sense of the world around him. Tom came to the Project after college and gained paid employment.

Tom works cleaning the malls in Meadowhall Centre, he has worked here for three years. When Tom first started at Meadowhall he couldn't travel or work independently, but with specialised support and a supportive and forward thinking employer Tom has made great progress. He now works and travels totally independently, any problems that arise during work he sees his supervisor himself or he contacts the Project.

The project is regularly in touch with Tom and his supervisors to monitor his progress. Tom has achieved more than ever thought possible. The Supported Employment project is extremely proud of Tom.
