Local eco-friendly business recruits organically
Local eco-friendly business recruits organically
27th April 2010

Local eco-friendly bag manufacturer Bag It Don't Bin It has collaborated with The Source Academy to recruit several new Apprentices to join their growing team through the National Apprenticeship Service's Employer Grant.

Bag It Don't Bin It, who is dedicated to recruiting fresh young talent looking for employment in a difficult climate, received support from The Source to find the perfect Apprentices for their organisation. By taking advantage of the National Apprenticeship Service's Employer Grant, Bag It Don't Bin It received funding and support to recruit a new member of staff.  The team were so pleased by the calibre of staff who applied for the role, that they recruited two new Apprentices.

Darren Angell, Operations Manager at Bag It Don't Bin It, said: "At Bag It Don't Bin It we are dedicated to growing our workforce organically and the great thing about Apprenticeships is that you are getting young people who are eager to learn and who can grow with your organisation. The Source advertised our vacancies and shortlisted candidates for us, offering the best calibre possible. We were so pleased with the service and the excellent calibre of people coming through; we recruited two Apprentices who are thriving in our organisation."

The scheme was launched to support employers to offer new and additional places in support of young people, offering £2,500 for businesses recruiting an unemployed 16 or 17 year old apprentice. The scheme enabled employers, who would not otherwise have been in a position to, to employ more than one Apprentice, and proved a great support to local businesses.

Bag It Don't Bin It Company Director Julia Gash said: "Apprenticeships are the future for growing businesses such as Bag It Don't Bin It. We are pleased to support this fantastic scheme and I would recommend Apprentices to any business. These young people are willing and enthusiastic to develop within your organisation - what better way to grow your business!"

Mike Denby, Business Communication Manager at The Source said: "The National Apprenticeship Service introduced the grant to support growing businesses like this with recruitment. Bag It Don't Bin It has recruited two enthusiastic individuals who are keen to learn and develop within their organisation and they now possess a motivated workforce that will grow as their company does.
