The Source's Business Communication Manager, Mike Denby, completed his bungee jump for Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice on Saturday 22nd May, dressed as the legendary Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story to raise funds for the great cause.
Mike, who is afraid of heights, completed the 150ft bungee jump with UK Bungee Club at The Abyss at Magna on Saturday 22nd May.
Mike says: "I am terrified of heights, but was quite excited before I did the jump. It was only when I was at the top, that the fear factor really hit me. It was the experience of a lifetime and UK Bungee Club were fantastic and even donated the official photograph for me to treasure! Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice is such a great cause, it was totally worth it and I really appreciate the support of friends, family and colleagues who were rooting for me."
Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice offers care and support to children with life limiting conditions who are not expected to reach adulthood, both in their own homes and at their hospice in Sheffield. They give families the chance to relax, take a break and have fun, and they help support the whole family.
Madeleine Oldale, Marketing Manager at Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice, said: "Mike generously offered to take on this challenge for our charity. A Bungee Jump is a nerve-wracking experience so Mike really does deserve every penny of his sponsorship. All of us at Bluebell Wood are really grateful for his efforts! It costs £2.5 million every year to care for children in this region with life threatening conditions, and with no statutory government funding, it is thanks to Mike and others like him that we are able to continue to provide this care."
You can still support Mike via his Justgiving fundraising page http://www.justgiving.com/Mike-Denby and all donations are gratefully received.
