Lee Leads the Way

Lee has a communication disorder called Autism, this means that he has difficulties making sense of the world around him. Lee has been with The Supported Employment Project since 2003 and has experience a number of work placements within Meadowhall Centre.

He came to the Supported Employment Project after being referred from Sheffield College in order for him to gain evidence for his NVQ Retail qualification.

Lee's carried out his first work placement at Boots, successfully gaining paid Christmas temporary employment.

After a second successful work placement at Argos, Lee gained paid employment. Lee's line manager is extremely supportive and happy with his progress she says:


"The difference in his confidence is overwhelming. The learning response has revitalised everyone's enthusiasm seeing such as advance in an individuals learning".

The Supported Employment Project is extremely proud of Lee and all of his achievements.
