My first day of work experience and after being brought by car with my older sister Tanya, (who also works in this building,) I was re-introduced with Mike Denby who I met a while back for an interview for me to take part in my work experience here.
I was then shown around the (large and slightly confusing) building and introduced to many people throughout, however many of their names I couldn't recall, it was great to meet everyone and I can now say ‘hello' and be friendly if I see them; or if asked to take part in a task with them, I would feel more confident in making conversation. I was also shown all the fire exits and told what to do if the fire alarm goes off and where to meet at the assembly point.
I really enjoyed meeting people who work helping other people return or enter into the life of work, and was touched after entering the office of The Autism Centre for Support Employment, and seeing the pictures of all the people they have helped on the walls around the room.
I also got to speak to Andy the Fitness suite Manager of the gym; of whom I have not met before, which helped as I am working with the gym team on the second part of my work experience.
I then did some computer work including some researching of different awards, e.g. The FLAME Awards. I also collected information off the source site, e.g. how many page views they have had each month, and put this information into graphs and charts.
All in all after feeling slightly anxious about my first day, I have been reassured that everybody is extremely friendly (some a little bit mad, just like me,) and that I shall certainly enjoy my three weeks here.

My second day and after arriving ten minutes early (a very proud moment for me,) I logged on to the computer and was set some tasks to do by Sophie. My first being to fill out a questionnaire for the Rotherham Newspaper Advertiser that Mike had arranged for me yesterday. After typing all the questions and answers out on the computer I was then told to make my own questions up for some school pupils I am due to interview at the end of the week.
I then wrote a letter of thanks to eleven different companies for donating many gifts towards the gift bags given out the previous week for an event that took place here.
Just before dinner I had my picture taken for the Advertiser and emailed it with the questionnaire to a journalist named Amy.
I then spent the rest of my time getting ready for asking community students questions tomorrow, and then filled in a lot of my work experience journal from school.

I started off my third day by logging onto Facebook under The Source's login and trying to promote their Facebook more by adding more people as friends.
I then used my questions I had previously written the day before and interviewed adults on courses here at The Source. The interviews where successful and I really enjoyed them. After just jotting down the answers in a note pad, it was time to type everything up and create a case study.
Half way through I had to save what I had done so far and create a flow chart for Mike, to use in a meeting later on that day. Finally I went to the meeting, with all the Business people, it was very formal! But I enjoyed it and seeing how the meetings worked was a great experience.

Day four and it's all going so quick!
I started off by finishing my case studies from the previous day, which didn't take long as I didn't have much to do.
I then created a page for The Source website on a new gym offer.
After completing the previous; I started searching things into Google news, for example ‘Mary Portas' and copying the URL'S onto a word document for Sophie.
I then helped Mike design some posters to go around Sheffield to promote the new gym offer.
For dinner Mike treated us to all go to Chilango's in Meadowhall! We had a laugh and it was great. We then came back and I highlighted some pages of information for Sophie, and then created labels for the Press File.
However half way through doing it, Mike suddenly shouted me to the phone, and he was dialling a radio station! He made me answer a question to which I got wrong, but it was very funny, way to put me on the spot Mike!

It's Friday!
Although I'm happy it's a Friday and I get the whole weekend to chill with my friends, I'm actually quite shocked about how fast this week has gone by. I have only got two more days next week with this team, and therefore I'm really sad! Everyone is really nice, and I had some rather random convo's with all the girls.
Anyway I started off my day by doing some case-study's from the Sheffield Showcase for Sophie.
I then interviewed some school children that are doing courses at The Source, (I really enjoyed that,) and after writing the notes on a note pad it was time for me to type them all up.
I then continued to do the Sheffield Showcase case-study's till the end of the day. I will look forward to my last two days here in the Marketing Department x.
