Meet Lucy, Research and Engagement Officer in The Source Marketing Department. Lucy will be developing new systems at The Source to help us manage relationships with clients more productively. This month, Lucy tells us more about her role and reveals her favourite ice cream to enjoy in the August sunshine.

Lucy, tell us a little more about your role at The Source.....
My job title is research and engagement officer. Currently I am working on the development of a customer relationship management database that will hopefully help us to properly manage customer relationships throughout the building. I am also about to start to help the training department by engaging with businesses who express an interest in the training we offer at The Source and helping them choose the correct option for their needs.

What do your day to day duties include?
Currently I am researching the options for the Customer Relationship Management database in an attempt to choose the correct solution for The Source. I am in the process of speaking to staff in the building to build up a picture of how they feel the database may work for them. I am also beginning to gather the expertise I need to allow me to help businesses select the training they need.

What are you enjoying most about your role so far?
So far I have enjoyed talking to staff to discover their views and opinions about customer relationship management and finding about how all the different areas within the building work. 

What did you do before working at The Source?
Before working at The Source I was studying towards an MSc in Management at the University of Sheffield management school.

What skills do you bring to your role?
I feel that my university education has given me confidence when conducting research and has helped me to fully investigate all possibilities when considering options for the database. When advising businesses on their training needs I feel that my approachable personality allows the customer to feel confident in the advice that I offer to them and will help them feel satisfied with the service they receive from myself and The Source.
