The Source Academy picked up the prize for Business of the Year at the Barnsley and Rotherham Business Awards on Friday evening.

The Source claimed the coveted prize (sponsored by Barnsley Community Solutions) at the ceremony, which took place in front of over 400 guests at the Magna Centre in Rotherham, as compére Harry Gration revealed the successful businesses.

The Business of the Year Award rewards a business that has achieved outstanding financial performance over the past 12 months, showing how they embraced new technologies and innovative management strategies to enhance business growth. The winner also shows exceptional investment in enhancing employees' work/life balance, along with an outstanding management strategy for staff retention and growth.

Chris MacCormac, Rotherham President of Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce, said: "It is testament to the quality of companies in South Yorkshire that the judging panels had so many superb entries to assess in the various categories, giving them the tough job of picking out those firms that had a crucial edge.
