A local charity is set to receive a substantial amount of money and it's all thanks to five wannabe brides who have been selected to take part in the challenge of their lives.
Local children's charity, Hallam FM's Cash for Kids is set to receive thousands of pounds thanks to five wannabe brides! The ‘5 Brides 1 Wedding' charity fundraising competition, which launched on the radio station a few weeks ago, requires the five finalist couples raise as much money for charity as possible, by doing so, helping towards their chance of winning the once in a lifetime prize of an all expenses paid £25k dream wedding at The Crown Hotel Bawtry or The Rutland Hotel in Sheffield!
Katy Winterschladen, Charity Manager explained; "Literally thousands of wannabe brides applied for the competition, we were astounded at the response! It was a difficult and lengthy task but a panel of judges eventually managed to shortlist the entries down to just twenty five. The finalists were then invited to attend ‘Bridal Boot Camp' at the fabulous Crown Hotel Bawtry last Tuesday. After lots of fun, embarrassment, emotion and tears, 20 gutted couples went home and the last lucky 5 remained! The video of the day can be seen here http://www.hallamfm.co.uk/cashforkids.com."
Bubbly student Terri Nolan 22 and Business Account Manager Mike Rayyan 29 from Woodhouse have made it through to the final five and are excited at the prospect of winning their dream wedding. Bride Terri said: "This really is the opportunity of a lifetime and we are doing everything we can to not only win our dream wedding, but to raise lots of money for a wonderful cause. We are the only couple from Sheffield in the competition and we hope the whole of the city is behind us as we really need everyone's support."
Getting through was the easy part! The hardest task is yet to come as they now have just 7 days, from Monday 28th March until 2pm on Sunday 3rd to raise as much money for local children's charity, Cash for Kids, as possible. The couple who raises the most within the deadline, will walk away with the ultimate dream wedding package and get married at 2pm on 28th April, the day before the Royal Wedding!
Mike, who works as a Business Account Manager for The Source in Sheffield has already gained the support of his friends, family and colleagues with everyone taking part in fundraising events including stag team challenges, bungee jumps and various sporting activities.
