Meet Paul Yates, Financial Controller at The Source Skills Academy. Paul recently joined The Source on a temporary contract, filling the shoes of our lovely Eilis Marshall whilst she is on maternity leave.
Paul will deal with monthly management accounts and payroll. This month, our roving reporter quizes Paul on his daily duties and his summer holiday destination of choice!
How long have you been with The Source Skills Academy?
I started on 11th April to start an eight week handover with Eilis before she goes on maternity leave. I will then be covering her role in the finance team until April 2012.
Where did you work previously?
I did 2.5 years at Manheim Car Auctions carrying out some finance projects and looking at the operations of their logistics business.
What does your job role involve?
At the moment everything! My main duties when Eilis leaves will be the monthly management accounts, payroll and supporting the business wherever required.
What are you enjoying most about your job?
Each day I learn more about the role and the duties that I will be taking responsibility for in a few weeks which is easing my nerves! I'm lucky though, as everybody at The Source has made me feel very welcome.
And the million dollar question for May - where will you be going on your summer holidays this year?
I have booked 2 weeks, all inclusive in the Cape Verde Islands for August and I can't wait!
