Meet the Team - Chelsea Peace
Meet the Team - Chelsea Peace
25th July 2011

Meet Chelsea Peace, Community Support Advisor at The Source. Chelsea works within our Schools and Communities Department liaising with local retailers and setting up placements for young people. This month, we quiz Chelsea on how her role will soon be changing and how she plans on enjoying the summer.

How long have you been with The Source Skills Academy?
I joined The Source in November of last year as Placement Officer within the Schools and Community Department. This has involved engaging local retailers and arranging suitable work experience for learners undertaking vocational retail training and qualifications. I've also worked in Marketing and moving forward I'll be involved in the delivery of the Work Programme.

Where did you work previously?
My background is in Marketing - which has included working in the healthcare sector for a company which develops software for cell analysis such as Cancer and HIV research and also for a business development consultancy which provides training to clients, internationally.

What does your job role involve?
I'm currently involved in setting up the Work Programme which includes training the team in the use of the associated systems and processes and I'll be providing information, advice and guidance to customers when we go live on October 20th.

What are you enjoying most about your job?
I love dealing with people and working with the community, it's very rewarding and no two days are the same.  And I'm very fortunate in that I work as part of such a fantastic team!

And the million dollar question for July..where will you be jetting off to on your summer holiday?
I've already had a holiday in Portugal with my family which I absolutely loved. So I'll be making the most of what's left of the British summer which will include eating al fresco as much as possible, hopefully a festival and crossing a few things off my bucket list such as going wild swimming in Hebden Bridge!
