The Vocational Skills Programme offers the chance to study for a range of qualifications from NVQ right up to diploma and ‘A Level' with the added bonus of learning about the job with placements and learning away from school a couple of days a week.

Pupil Josh Milne is currently studying for BTEC First in Retail and Customer Service qualifications. Josh has found learning outside the traditional classroom a boost. Josh said:

"I love the schools programme, its much better than school. The tutors are great and they treat me like an adult. The course is very practical, teaching us the importance of customer service, merchandising and product knowledge. I'm really looking forward to my work placement.  I'm hoping to work in a smart menswear store, one where I can wear a suit and put my customer service and product knowledge into practice!"
