Top Marks for The Source Café Bar
Top Marks for The Source Café Bar
17th June 2008

The Source Café Bar gained five stars in a recent hygiene inspection carried out by Sheffield City council. Under the ‘Scores on the Doors' scheme, the hygiene inspection was carried out by city council food safety officers.

The scoring system is based on the Food Law Code of Practice issued by the Food Standards Agency. The Source was assessed against the following criteria:

- The standard of hygiene
- The structural condition
- Confidence in management

The 5 star rating is excellent with 0 stars meaning that major improvements are required.

Delighted with the news, Business Communication Manager, Mike Denby said:
"Gaining 5 stars is excellent news. We have worked hard on our operational procedures since taking the decision to manage the catering internally. To receive 5 stars is great recognition for the team and their hard work."

Businesses who achieve a 5 stars rating receive an award certificate which can be displayed on their premises. The certificate can be seen in The Source Café Bar, next to the till point for all to see.

The Scores on the Doors system replaces the food hygiene award scheme, which recognises those businesses, which operate to high standards of hygiene.
