Today we will be learning a little about our two new recruits in the busy Source marketing department. George Elliott and Sophie Lawson.
Can you tell us a bit about your new roles at the Source?
Sophie - I'm marketing and business executive working alongside Mike and George to bring in new business and maintain existing relationships. I will also be working on the ‘e' newsletter & various PR campaigns.
George - I have probably the best job title in the world ‘business communications executive' with a similar role to Sophie's with more emphasis on face to face contact with prospective and existing clients.
What are you looking forward to most in your new roles?
George - Spreading the word about our ‘world class facility' here at the Source and helping people become the best they can be (I firmly believe that everyone deserves a chance to develop).
Sophie - Working with a friendly & proactive team. Mike and George are great fun and our office is never quiet!
How would you describe yourself?
Sophie - I'm a bubbly person & some say I talk too much but I call it chatty.
George - I am a born communicator who loves meeting new people.
Can you tell us about your previous job?
George - Training/development and recruitment manager for Apollo Travels national call centre in Rotherham.10 wonderful years in the leisure travel industry.
Sophie - Marketing team member with Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions and I don't miss the unflattering hard hat and high visibility vest combo
What do you get up to in your spare time?
Sophie - Love going to the cinema and seeing shows and both George and I share a passion for travel. Mine is usually Blackpool rather than the Bahamas though.
George - All Sheffield sports (except S2) travelling the world/live music/theatre. My Favourite countries are The Maldives and Thailand.
Rumour has it there are wedding bells in the air for one of you is that true?
Sophie - that's very true I'm getting hitched next July and George's wedding present is helping me plan our honeymoon to somewhere where there's no rain!
George - Well it's definitely not me although last year my wife and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary (and they said it wouldn't last!).
Finally its early days however are you beginning to feel like a team yet?
George - I think we bring totally different qualities to the team (brains and beauty for instance and I'll let you decide which is which!) and I believe we complement each other.
Sophie - Definitely, everyone has welcomed us with open arms. We are all very different however seem to be on the same wavelength and I know how the boys like their tea and coffee so that must be a good sign.
