Meet Fathi Albarouni, originally from Libya, who is currently on The Source at Meadowhall's Skills for jobs programme; an innovative training scheme enabling people to gain the knowledge, confidence and skills to find employment following a break from the world of work. The training is flexible allowing learners to improve their knowledge of the retail industry whilst gaining essential employability skills. It obviously works as Fathi has recently landed himself a position in Marks and Spencer's flagship store in Meadowhall.
Fathi has really enjoyed the programme so far and would recommend The Source to anyone. Here, he explains why he contacted The Source in the first place:
"I was recommended to the course by ‘Forum House' our local Burngreave community association. The tutors on Skills for jobs are fantastic and help with everything we need to find a job. My confidence and sense of pride has grown since I started, and getting the Marks and Spencer's job was a great achievement. In 10 years time I hope to be either a Consultant or be operating my own business giving back to the community some of the skills and knowledge that I have gained at The Source."
