Merry Christmas from The Source
Merry Christmas from The Source
5th December 2008

The Source has seen many changes throughout 2008, with company growth and exciting events developing throughout the year.

This year The Source has grown in size and stature, winning awards for fantastic achievements. April saw our very own Nuno DaSilva crowned winner of the Business Administration and Law category at The Celebration of Learning and Skills Awards, proving what an asset he is to the organisation.

Not only was The Source Cafe Bar launched this year, but in June, gained five stars under the ‘Scores on the Doors' hygiene inspection scheme carried out by Sheffield City Council; a fantastic achievement for the hardworking Cafe Bar team.

The Source also showcased their charitable nature this year, supporting Hallam FM's Cash for Kids campaign and the Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice with ongoing gym activities and donations.

2008 saw the launch of the new and exclusive mock retail shop and store window, designed for learners to gain retail skills by having the ability to practice window dressing, till work, customer service and maintaining levels of stock control. This is just one of the ways The Source supports young people in developing a career in retail.

This year, The Source also attended various events, including sponsorship of The Sheffield Star Jobs Fair to great success and showcasing young talent at the Talent Week event held in Meadowhall Shopping Centre in October.

The Source recently celebrated its 5th Birthday with an event demonstrating the successes to date since opening in 2003. With over 350,000 visits, training delivered to over 2,000 people and the support of more than 180 employers, The Source really did have reason to celebrate.

The Source Director, Ann Cadman, says: "It has been an amazing journey so far and with teamwork and true partnership, so much has been achieved."

The Source had a fantastic 2008, and 2009 is due to be even more eventful with business growth and exciting opportunities to look forward to. The Source would also like to take this opportunity to wish Mohammed Dajani, Meadowhall Centre Director for 13 years, a fond farewell and much luck for the future.

From all at The Source, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
