Working in partnership with local schools The Source delivers Retail, Distribution and Customer Service vocational qualification. Qualified teachers with extensive occupational competence provide the opportunity for pupils to pursue these qualifications either on site or within their respective schools.
Throughout each programme, practical activities are combined with research and written work. Activities include role-plays, planning showroom layouts, field trips into Meadowhall and guest speakers from the organisation. Various key skills can also be integrated into qualifications where required.
To enhance the learning experience, placements are found within Meadowhall, Rotherham, Sheffield or Doncaster providing the students with a valuable opportunity to gain work experience. Risk assessments are conducted for each placement, and the student's progress is monitored through a supervisors report on a monthly basis. Many students have successfully completed one-day per week placements throughout their courses.
Short courses can also be delivered to year 8 & 9 pupils, enhancing customer service skills to prepare them for work experience.
Qualifications delivered consist of:
- BTEC First National Certificates and Diplomas
- BTEC Customer service level 1 & 2
- NCFE short course
