Security Training
The Security Industry Act 2001 was established to help protect society by developing and achieving high standards within the private security industry. The aim of the Act is to raise standards of professionalism and skills within the private security industry and to promote and spread best practise.
The SIA believes that a professional, regulated, private security industry has the potential to become a valuable member of the extended Police family, helping to reduce crime, disorder and the fear of crime.
On 20th March 2006 it became illegal to work as, or supply, a contracted security guard without a Security Industry Approved (SIA) licence in England and Wales. Part of the requirement means that all people who work or want to work in the Security Industry must undergo SIA approved training. Therefore, The Source at Meadowhall is offering industry approved training to meet these security needs.
The staff and trainers at The Source believe strongly in equal opportunity and opportunity for all. We promote inclusion, respect fairness and the right of the individual.
